Paulo Freire 1921-1997
1. Suffering during the great depression gave him great empathy for less fortunate.
2. Imprisoned as a traitor for 70 days due to his compassion towards education.
3. Taught 300 farm workers to read in 45 days.
4. UNESCO 1986 Prize for Eduction for Peace.
What a wonderful man, although he could have practiced as an attorney and made a good living, he chose the Humanitarian road to help others who are less fortunate.
We need more people like Paulo in this world!
